Washington Nationals series opener in St. Louis will last for two days
The Nationals and Cardinals have suspended their Friday games after rain delays. The contest will be played on Saturday as part of a doubleheader split. The suspended match will start at 13:15 CDT, and Saturday’s match originally scheduled to start at 18:15 CDT

Game one would restart with the Cardinals leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, with Paul Goldschmidt’s full count and a runner at first base
The lone run came on Lars Nootbaar’s homer off National starter Trevor Williams with two outs in the first inning. It was Nootbaar’s sixth homer of the season
Williams allowed only one hit and no walk while hitting five to 2 2/3 innings.
Cardinal Miles Mikolas starter had pitched three perfect innings, and he fanned two of them
