Mandatory Cleaning of Bookbags and Metal Detectors Among New Changes In PG County, Maryland Schools | Gateway Experts | by Anthony Scott

Millard House II, the new superintendent for Prince George’s County public schools, has announced that all students will be required to have a required book bag in the coming school year.

In addition to forcing students to have clean bags, House has also developed plans to install metal detectors in all middle and high schools in the PG County, Maryland school district.

House, who has served just 10 days as superintendent, laid out new rules for the coming school year to “Combat any increasing number of weapons appearing in or on schools in the area.”

Many parents in the PG County district are concerned about the new rules because they believe House is turning the school into a prison rather than a place of learning.
