Illinois State Police: Greyhound bus crash on I-70 leaves 3 dead, 14 injured in Madison County near St. Louis

MADISON COUNTY, sick. (WLS) — Three people were killed and at least 14 injured in a Greyhound bus crash in Illinois near the St. Louis area. Louis Wednesday morning, the Illinois State Police said.
The accident occurred westbound on I-70 near the Silver Lake Rest area in Madison County at about 1:54 a.m., police said.
Investigators said the Greyhound bus was traveling west when it hit three commercial vehicles parked on the exit to the Silver Lake rest stop on I-70.
Police said three people on the bus died and 14 were taken to hospital. No one in the commercial vehicle was injured, police said.
Troops closed off westbound I-70 to traffic between mileposts 28 and 24 as they investigated the crash.
