Hurricane Don weakened to a tropical storm, NHC said By Reuters

(Reuters) – Hurricane Don weakened to a tropical storm, the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Sunday.

The storm was located about 320 miles (515 km) southeast of Cape Race, Newfoundland and was packing maximum sustained winds of 65 miles per hour (105 kph), Miami-based forecasters said.

The NHC expected the storm to weaken further and said Don would likely lose tropical storm status by Sunday or Monday.
