Atlanta is one of the cities being considered for the 2025 All-Star Game.
It mattered because the city lost the 2021 Midsummer Classic when Major League Baseball withdrew the game amid backlash against changes to Georgia’s voting law.

But now commissioner Rob Manfred says Truist Park, home to the Atlanta Braves, could be the venue for the 2025 game.
“Atlanta is in the club mix for the ’25 All-Star Game,” Manfred told the Baseball Writers’ Association of America on Tuesday, hours before the first pitch of the annual game in Seattle. “I’m not ready to go through that for now.”
The 2021 All-Star Game moved to Coors Field in Denver.
Another site being considered is Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. A game hasn’t been held at the famous ballpark since 1990.
“As time goes on I focus more on keeping track of when the last game was there and trying to get back to places we haven’t been in a long time,” said Manfred. “That’s a long time.”
Fenway Park in Boston is also on Manfred’s radar. The Red Sox have not hosted a game since the emotional scene in 1999 when wheelchair-bound Ted Williams, widely regarded as the best hitter in baseball history, threw out a ceremonial first pitch and was escorted to the mound by Tony Gwynn, the top pure hitter of his era. played for the San Diego Padres.
Next year’s game will be hosted by the Texas Rangers and the 2026 game will be held in Philadelphia, to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Atlanta previously hosted the All-Star Games in 1972 and 2000.
