A man brutally assaulted an AMC movie theater in Florida over reserved seats, authorities say

POMPANO BEACH, Florida — Authorities in Florida have released video of a brutal assault inside an AMC movie theater that they suspect stemmed from a seat problem.
The incident occurred on July 10 in Pompano Beach, Florida, just north of Fort Lauderdale.
“He just went to town in front of me,” said the victim who spoke anonymously to him WSVN-TV. “I had to get two stitches to my head. I broke my nose, which seems to have healed. I have bruises.”
The 63-year-old disabled veteran said he was attacked after he told a couple they were sitting in his chair.
“I said to him, ‘Hey, you know, you sit in our seats,’ and … he just sat there looking at me with disgust.”
The victim said he eventually told the couple to stay in the chairs.
“As I was walking away, he said to me, ‘Go to your wife, little one,’ and I turned around and said, ‘Excuse me?’ I said, ‘You’re the one being the kid. I’ll let you sit in my chair.'”
That’s when things changed physically.
’ He jumped up and he said, ‘You wanna fight? You want to fight?’ I reached out to keep my distance, and I couldn’t tell if I fell down the stairs or he pushed me.”
Video shows the victim being hit before falling to the ground. The suspect continued to beat him until someone else stepped in to help. The attacker eventually ran off with a woman.
“I was punched hard. I couldn’t believe what happened,” said the victim.
Investigators are now hoping someone will identify the suspect and the woman.
“I hope to catch this person and I will definitely sue,” said the victim.
